ABOUT

Dr. Kimberly D. Shelton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Licensed Advanced Practice Social Worker and a Board-Certified Social Worker.  Working in the Social Work Profession for 20 years in the private and government sector.  Currently working in Geriatrics &Extended Care, which is her specialty.
 

Dr. Shelton is the owner of KDS Gerontological Consulting, PLLC, which is dedicated to assisting older adults and their families. Working with older adults is her passion.

Dr. Shelton has worked as a Hospitalist Social Worker and worked in the areas of Cardiology, Medicine/Surgery,Spinal Cord Injury, Inpatient Mental Health, Suicide Prevention and Geriatrics. 

Dr. Shelton attended and graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a B.A. in Sociology and minor in Psychology. She earned a Master’s in Social Work (Gerontology concentration and Business Administration minor) at Washington University of St. Louis. She went on to attend and graduate from Southern University and A&M College Baton Rouge, LA, with a PhD. in Public Policy with a concentration in Public Health.
